ClimaSpec Thermal Break Installed Steel Balcony

Thermal bridges can be produced by balconies and canopies that bypass the building envelope.

ClimaSpec TB Thermal Breaks can be included between the steel-to-steel and concrete-to-steel structural elements, to provide a thermally separated connection and lessen the thermal energy transfer.

ClimaSpec Thermal Break Installed at Column Base

Column Thermal Bridging Solution

Due to the high heat conductivity, steel and concrete columns pierce the insulating line and create thermal bridges.

ClimaSpec CI is installed between the column base plate and the concrete slab, plinth, or embedded steel plate to achieve column base isolation. Increasing the effectiveness of the insulation line.

Façade Thermal Bridging Solution

Thermal bridges are typically produced by attachments to the façade and cladding, that collectively cause a significant reduction in the building’s R value.

The thermal efficiency of connections is increased by using ClimaSpec TB to thermally break attachments to the building’s main structure and separate façade transitions.

Foundation to Wall Thermal Bridging Solution

Thermal transfer around the entire structure can occur at uninsulated foundation to wall transitions, greatly increasing heat loss.

Installing ClimaSpec CI directly beneath the exterior wall will thermally break the perimeter where the foundation transitions to the wall, improving building energy efficiency.

Parapet and Roof Penetration Thermal Bridging Solution

Unwanted thermal transfer caused by roof supports and anchors, as well as improperly insulated parapets, decrease the R-Value of the roof insulation line.

Using ClimaSpec Structural Thermal Breaks reduce heat transfer through transitions and connections.

Windows and Doors Thermal Bridging Solution

The design and positioning of window framing at wall openings can greatly reduce the overall wall’s effective R value (thermal resistance). Additionally, when door thresholds are not positioned correctly within the insulation line, it can create a thermal bridge

The structural element from the window frame can be replaced or isolated using ClimaSpec Thermal Breaks. Door thresholds can also be fitted with a ClimaSpec Thermal Break under the door threshold strip.
